Potty Training

This week Eoin and I started the journey towards being potty trained. We took him to Target to pick out some underwear - Thomas the Tank and Diego were his choices. I knew the weather was going to be awful this week so it made sense to start on a week when we would be stuck indoors. Eoin had already been telling us that he was weeing and as he calls poo - 'brown wee wee' so we were confident he was ready.

We have two potties in the house but he definitely preferred the softer and larger Prince Lionheart potty. (A side note I love all their products from the bumbo seat through to their safety corners all fantastic!). Monday and Tuesday I just let Eoin run around the house half naked and every 15 minutes would remind him to use the potty. The first day went well - only two accidents and by the afternoon he could tell me that wee wee was coming and got himself to the potty. Tuesday no accidents.

Then Wednesday hit and all I can say is that the weather that day was enough to freak anyone out! Thunder that shook our house to the foundation and then a tornado warning. I was in and out of our home all day as I wanted to take shelter with our wonderful neighbors and so Eoin had three accidents that day and ended up in a Pull Up by the end of the day.

As of today Friday Eoin is becoming quiet confident in using the potty. Diapers still for nap, bedtime and the park (for now) but when we are home he is using the potty like a champ. We're hoping that by Uncle Peter's visit in March Eoin will be diaper free apart from naps and bedtime.
