The White Knights

Eoin has joined one of the Sunnyvale Alliance Soccer Teams. Andy stepped up and volunteered to coach the team who decided to call themselves The White Knights. Today was the first game. Not really sure if we won but Eoin did get a spectacular goal. When you see him with his peers you realize just how tall he is. When his kit came he put on the shorts and said 'look Mommy I have new underwear!" Needless to say we got some bigger shorts.

The last little bit of summer

We were blessed with being able to get away for the Labor Day weekend which also happens to be Andy's birthday weekend too. We found a great vacation rental right on the coast near Pescadero. The weather was super, not a hint of fog and lots of wonderful warm sun. The house was huge and even better it had a small private beach too. It was the perfect place to end summer.

Leaving the trains behind

From the age of 1 Eoin has been fascinated by trains. Our lives revolved around many train activities. Evening walks would be along the side of the train tracks so he could watch the commuter trains and barriers operate. In the last year however Eoin has started to leave trains behind him and focus on big machines. We turned the underneath of his play structure into a quarry where he loves to play with his construction vehicles. Lego is also a huge hobby. Everyday there is a new engineering feat being created.  Now when it comes to standing on a toy in a dark room a train is much less painful then lego!

Ziplining

Right at the end of our holiday Eoin was beyond excited to complete a zip lining course. Our friends joined us and everyone had a blast. Eoin has wanted to do this for nearly a year and so it may have been the highlight of the trip for him. I really wish we could find somewhere local that had a similar course.
