Weekend exploring
Our weekend wasn't too different to many we have had recently. We headed to the coast to one of Eoin's favorite spots and just had fun exploring.
Despite the fact that we have done this three weekends in a row now Eoin still finds something new every time. And he always surprises us with how capable he is becoming at doing things on his own. He is growing up too fast!

Baloo
Eoin loves watching 'The Jungle Book' and apart from Wall-E it is the only movie he will watch from start to end (very often in our bed on a Saturday morning when we want to grab a few more zzz's).
Today while out for a walk Eoin ran right up to a palm tree and started scratching his back. When asked what he was doing he told us clearly 'Baloo'.

Conversations with a 2 year old
Eoin's verbal skills have really developed in the last couple of weeks. We can have conversations now which is so much fun but also a huge window into how his little brain works. Here are two for example:
At dinner time Eoin was sitting at the table and then proceeded to get down and go under the table.
Me: Eoin what are you doing?
Eoin: Climbing under table.
Me: Why?
Eoin: Being naughty - huge grin
Eoin is always a little reluctant to leave his warm and cozy crib after a nap and so sometimes I have to 'bribe' him to come out.
Me: Eoin I have a surprise for you. Would you like to see it?
Eoin: Of course (this answer always cracks me up!).
So off we go to the sitting room and we look out of the windows.
Me: Look it's been raining. Now we can put our rain boots on and go jump in puddles.
Eoin: Not surprise. Want other surprise.
Me: What surprise do you want.
Eoin: Box, present, surprise.
Me: I don't have a present for you.
Eoin: Truck bring box (being the UPS delivery truck!).
Nothing gets by this kid! I look forward to some more funny conversations with him in the coming months.

Those Magnificent Men in their Flying Machines
Over the weekend we took Eoin to our local aviation museum. He loved it. He lay down on the floor of the museum and just starred at all the helicopters, planes and even the blimp! Eoin got to sit in a helicopter, a jet and climb all over a Boeing 747. We'll definitely be heading back there during the rainy months that (hopefully) are coming.

Adoption Awareness Month
Click here to view this photo book.
November is Adoption Awareness Month and so I am hoping to blog a little through out the month about our adoption journey and raising our little guy Eoin.I'm going to start with sharing a little book that I have just finished writing for Eoin about our family. The idea for it came from Eoin starting to ask about babies. Many of our friends have just had the excitement and joy of welcoming a second baby into their families. They were all so wonderful with Eoin and let him touch their tummies and talk about how a baby was growing.
Then one day Eoin came and touched my tummy and said 'Mommy, baby tummy'. Oh how that pulled at the heart strings! Of course I had a little moment later with Andy where I cried a little and shared how that was tough. Don't get me wrong - we would go through everything ten times over because it means we have our wonderful little man.
We talk to him nearly everyday about his birthmother and how he grew in Amy's tummy but I think this may be the beginning of Eoin's awareness of his adoption. And so I decided to get creative and write Eoin another storybook about his family. It should arrive with us in a couple of days. I can't wait to read it to him.
