Playdate

Today we had a great playdate with Max and Andrew. Both Max and Andrew are more or less crawling but Eoin stuck to his rolling to get around. In fact when Andrew 'was in the way' Eoin just rolled right over him! The boys have so much fun checking out each others toys but it does sometimes lead to them trying to grab the same toy and not sharing but hey the toy the other boy has is always more interesting than what they have plus they are only seven months old.

Gassy boy

If you listen carefully you will hear Eoin fart and then giggle about it! It's so funny.

Oh yeah he's eating melon too.

First Balloon.

We got Eoin his first balloons today. He found them absolutely fascinating. While he didn't quite understand that trying to eat them would end up in a big bang (and a squeaky voice as they were filled with helium) he did throughly enjoy bouncing them up and down.

Mischievous Little Boy

This last couple of weeks has seen Eoin start to roam the house. He very effectively rolls to where ever he wants to get to......our bedroom, the cats water bowl and especially his toy baskets. I think we are going to have one little mischievous boy on our hands!

Sippy cup

Here is Eoin trying to work out how to use his sippy cup. He is normally a little more co-ordinated than this but it was the end of the day and he was tired.

Finger Food

Eoin has started to discover finger food. We started with cheerios and then today tried a bread stick. The bread stick was a huge hit!

Chattering

7 months old

Eoin is 7 months old today! He now weighs in at just under 24 lbs and is 30.5 inches long. That's a gain of 10.5 inches and nearly 17 lbs in 7 months!

Apart from being a big boy Eoin is now mobile - not crawling but rolling. He will now roll almost anywhere in the house. We found half under our bed the other day and today he rolled to the cat's water bowl and started splashing in that. Guess what we are doing this weekend - baby proofing!

The other really great thing he has started to do is reach out for us when he wants to be picked up or come to us from someone else's arms. Eoin also now recognizes us in photographs. We were looking at the family photos on the wall the other day and he started to smile and reach out for the photos of us. It's so great to see that he recognizes us and knows who we are.

Eoin continues to eat like a champion and has started finger foods like crusty bread, cheerios and soft fruits. He will also now grab the bottle from you and put it in his mouth and hold it for an entire feed.

Eoin 's teeth still aren't up! He has two big bumps on his bottom gum but no teeth; needless to say he is chomping on everything but not really drooling much (which is nice).

His favorite toys are now things that make noise like his maracas, drum and anything that crinkles especially paper. But most of all he just loves anything he can chew on.

Fun lunch

After our court hearing today we went for a fun French lunch in San Jose. There were smiles all round from us proud parents, godmother Katie and of course the star of the show Eoin.

Finalization

Wow what a great day! We are glad to say that Eoin's adoption has been finalized and he is officially a Pomianowski!

Court was super smooth and easy. The judge was lovely and we did the whole procedure in her chambers. Once all the formalities were done she asked Eoin (who woke up just in time) to choose a toy so that he would remember the day. He chose a red car. We thought that was so sweet of her. Afterwards we went for a lovely lunch and just enjoyed the day.

It took us a while to realize what todays date was but when we looked at the calendar we realized that today was the three year anniversary of the loss of our first pregnancy. It really made it feel like we had come a full circle and Eoin was truly meant to be a part of our family.

Cold's

So apologies if anyone finds this picture gross but we just had to capture the moment! Eoin caught a cold while we were in Florida and while it is much better now we still get the odd moment where we are running for a tissue!

No jetlag

We're back in California safe and sound. The flight home was a little tough one because it was at six in the morning and two because Eoin has a cold so I had to stand for most of the six hour flight with Eoin in the sling singing to him so that he could sleep.
His cold has really bunged him up and he is breathing through his mouth but on the sleep front he seems to have fallen back into pacific time no problem so no jet lag for us! In fact last night he slept right through and didn't wake for a feed until 6am which made it 12 hours of sleep and as you can see in the photo he went back to sleep after his feed. So I guess I had better jump in the shower while I can.

We're getting really excited as tomorrow is our court date to finalize Eoin's adoption. Just getting everything organized and I'm even ironing clothes which for those of you who know me is a huge even. Our ironing board comes out about twice a year but heck such a huge day calls for no wrinkles!

Disney

Mommy and Eoin hanging out together at Disney downtown. Eoin was watching some very noisy parrots; he could have spent hours watching them talk and move.

Fries

Eoin chomped on his first fry today while we had our lunch. He managed to suck all the soft potato out of the center (don't worry there wasn't any salt on the fries!).

Dancing Boy

We traveled west today and went to Clearwater on the Gulf Coast. The day was gorgeous and warm and the sea very inviting. We had lunch at a little place on the beach which had live music and Eoin loved to bop along to the music.

Sleepy Boy

Eoin was having trouble getting to sleep last night and so Matt stepped in and lulled him off sleep. We have opted to keep him on pacific time so that we don't have early mornings when we get home -so far it seems to be working.

Relaxing

Eoin and Amy relaxing after an evening swim. Going in the pool is the best thing ever to exhaust Eoin!

Animal Kingdom

We've had a really great day at Animal Kingdom today (though it was super hot!).
We got to go on safari and see lots of animals though Eoin slept through it. He loved talking to the parrots and seeing the silver back gorillas. The fish and waterfalls were great entertainment too. The highlight of the day was the Lion King show. The lights and music and all those acrobats kept him mesmerized. We stayed for the parade and got to cheer as Donald Duck and Mickey Mouse went by.

New Friends

Eoin hanging out with James his friend from England. James is exactly one month older than Eoin but James is fitting into Eoin's older clothes. They both have really enjoyed having another little one to hang out with it.

Dancing with the Stars

We're having lots of fun in Orlando. Amy (4 yrs) has been getting into 'Dancing With the Stars' so much so she is making her Uncle Andy practice with her. Amy hopes Christy wins.

Splish Splash

Swimming

Eoin just loves the water! We are very lucky to have a pool at the house that we are staying at in Orlando and Eoin thinks he is in seventh heaven with the pool he would stay in all day and the best thing is that it makes him so tired he sleeps really well. He loves splashing and kicking and we have a great float for him but he has taken to drinking the water from the float!

Airport

Here's Eoin hanging out at the airport before we flew to Orlando, Florida. We gave oursleves three hours to check in and boy did we need it! We tried to use the self check in bu then they tried to charge us for Eoin's stroller and car seat so then we had to join another line for ages to get check in by a real person. Luckily Security was a breeze and as we had Eoin in the Baby Ergo carrier which is airport friendly he could stay put and fast asleep!
The big surprise to us was once we got on our plane - we discovered that United don't have baby seat belts you just have to hold your baby on your knee or frankly however you want to. On the way down he was back in his Ergo (by the way this is the best baby carrier ever! We got it just for this trip and I don't even notice Eoin's 23lbs!). Eoin was pretty good flying, he slept through take off and was so tired by the time we were landing he really was bothered by the change in pressure.
Now it's time to holiday and have fun and relax.

Swing

We have just had a swing built for Eoin in our back yard. Jesse and his team did a great job and now we have a wonderful swing under the shade of our redwood. Eoin would live in his swing if he got half a chance!

Playdate

Eoin had a playdate with his friends Max and Jackson today but unfortunately Jackson wasn't feeling too good (we think he is teething too). Max looks so sweet in the photo and wants to sooth Jackson.

Teething

Eoin's teeth are really starting to bother him so we have started using this ingenious net feeder. You can put small pieces of food in it (we opt for juicy cold fruit) and then Eoin chomps in it and he is safe from choking and also the cold fruit gives relief to his gums. A big thumbs up for this baby product!

Laughing

Eoin has really started to laugh lots. He is super ticklish but also finds it really funny if we put his feet in his face. Eoin's laughing is the best sound in the world!

Getting ready for vacation

We're getting ready for our vacation in Orlando, though not sure if Eoin has got the idea of packing. Unpacking seems to be much more fun! We're going to meet up with Matt, Sue, Amy and James and hang out together.
