2 and a quater
Eoin has just turned two and a quarter years old and the little guy ain't so little anymore (well when was he ever little really?).
He just had his feet measured on Saturday and he is now a 9.5 to 10 size foot (that's and 8.5 to 9 in the UK). Many of his 3T pants and tee's are getting to be on the small side. In fact all his jackets and sweaters are 4T. Problem is he fills the bigger sizes in length but he is so lean that he doesn't fill them around the tummy. At least the boys slim ranges start at 4T. We're guessing his weight but pretty sure that it is around 40lbs.
Eoin is still very active with swimming being his favorite activity but he is also getting much better at sitting and loves story-time and play-doh.

Potty Training
This week Eoin and I started the journey towards being potty trained. We took him to Target to pick out some underwear - Thomas the Tank and Diego were his choices. I knew the weather was going to be awful this week so it made sense to start on a week when we would be stuck indoors. Eoin had already been telling us that he was weeing and as he calls poo - 'brown wee wee' so we were confident he was ready.
We have two potties in the house but he definitely preferred the softer and larger Prince Lionheart potty. (A side note I love all their products from the bumbo seat through to their safety corners all fantastic!). Monday and Tuesday I just let Eoin run around the house half naked and every 15 minutes would remind him to use the potty. The first day went well - only two accidents and by the afternoon he could tell me that wee wee was coming and got himself to the potty. Tuesday no accidents.
Then Wednesday hit and all I can say is that the weather that day was enough to freak anyone out! Thunder that shook our house to the foundation and then a tornado warning. I was in and out of our home all day as I wanted to take shelter with our wonderful neighbors and so Eoin had three accidents that day and ended up in a Pull Up by the end of the day.
As of today Friday Eoin is becoming quiet confident in using the potty. Diapers still for nap, bedtime and the park (for now) but when we are home he is using the potty like a champ. We're hoping that by Uncle Peter's visit in March Eoin will be diaper free apart from naps and bedtime.

At last staying in bed thru the night
At nearly 27 months Eoin is now staying in bed through the night thanks to a little purchase we made in Ireland. This wonderful clock which comes with a storybook shows a moon and stars when you are meant to be in bed and then the sun comes up when it is time to get out of bed. We love it and it really has changed our night times massively

A pirate says Aaargh!
A big parcel arrived to day for Eoin all the way from Ireland. As you can see from the video Eoin loves his new pirate ship. Man I really really wish we had an Early Learning Centre over here. Their toys are always so great!
