Isn't it meant to rain in Ireland?

Whenever we go to Ireland we go prepared for rain, it is after all Ireland. But this trip we were a little unprepared for the cold and icy conditions that were to greet us! Luckily Sassy had bought Eoin a great snow suit that kept him super warm and dry but even so the little guy did take a little while to get used to the cold.

On Christmas Day is got as low as -10 Celsius. Temperatures this cold hadn't been felt in Ireland since 1963. Mom and Dad's pond iced over, the local duck pond was partially frozen and on several days we couldn't drive on the small roads before midday. But most bizarrely the sand on the beaches was frozen. Eoin really couldn't understand why he couldn't dig and build sandcastles.
